Cherie Boogaart studied at the Elder Conservatorium of Music and the Australian Opera Studio.

Roles performed with State Opera South Australia include Siebel (Faust), Nefertiti (Akhnaten), Kasturbai (Satyagraha), various roles in Love Burns, Giovanna (Rigoletto), Wowkle (Girl of the Golden West), Phil (The Station), Sandman (Hansel and Gretel), the Messenger (Underneath), Mrs Judd and Mrs Bonner (Voss), and Flora (La Traviata), Marcellina (The Marriage of Figaro), Edith (The Pirates of Penzance), and Lady Sangazure (The Sorcerer).  Cherie has also performed the title role in ‘Maria de Buenos Aires’ for State Opera South Australia, The Brisbane Festival, and Victorian Opera.

Other credits include 'South Pacific' and 'The Mikado' for the Adelaide Festival Theatre, 'He and She Don’t Go Together' for the Perth Cabaret Festival, 'Guys and Dolls' with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Cindy in 'The Beauty Spot' and 'Songs To Make You Feel Sexy' for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, 'Sweeney Todd' for Victorian Opera, and roles in 'I love you, you’re perfect, now change' and 'Elegies' for Singular Productions.

Cherie has also performed the roles of Alisa in 'Lucia di Lammermoor’. Third Lady (The Magic Flute), Dorabella (Cosí fan Tutte), and Orlofsky: (Die Fledermaus)
