Miriam
Albano

Italian lyric coloratura soprano Miriam Albano is emerging as a compelling interpreter of Mozart and bel canto repertoire, praised for her vibrant stage presence, expressive musicianship and remarkable vocal agility. Her artistic path reflects a natural evolution from the Classical and Rossini repertoire toward the lyric bel canto tradition. Born in Venice, she studied violin at the Conservatory “Benedetto Marcello” before continuing her voice training in Vienna, where she refined her artistry with distinguished musicians including Brigitte Fassbaender and Mariella Devia. Her international career gained early momentum with success at the Neue Stimmen Competition (2015) and the Francisco Viñas International Singing Competition (2016), followed by her selection as Italy’s finalist at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World in 2017. From 2016 to 2019 she was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera, where she debuted Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro and Annio in La Clemenza di Tito. She has since appeared at leading international venues including the Salzburg Festival, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Grand-Théâtre de Bordeaux, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Berliner Philharmonie and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. Her repertoire includes Rosina in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Despina in Così fan tutte and Aminta in Il re pastore by Mozart. She makes her Australian debut as Adalgisa in Norma by Vincenzo Bellini.
