Opera takes hundreds of people to put on a stage, and only some of them sing. State Opera South Australia offers a week of hands-on work experience for secondary and tertiary students, alongside the people who make a season happen.
You will spend the week with our team, seeing how a production comes together from the inside.
What you'll do
Work experience is built around the parts of the company you want to learn. Across the week you might work across:
- Arts administration
- Arts education
- Marketing
- Production
- Wardrobe
- Stage management
We tailor each placement to the student. Tell us where your interest lies, and we will build the week around it.
Who it's for
- Secondary students completing school work experience.
- Tertiary students undertaking a placement as part of their studies.
No performance experience is needed. What matters is curiosity about how the arts work, on and off the stage.
